2/7/05 - We were joined by two mainland groups the Wessex Weekend Walkers and the Dorset Young Walkers for a trip to the Needles. Starting from Yarmouth, we quickly made our way to the south coast via the cycle path and mosquito free Nature Reserve. Up over Tennyson Down the weather sadly worsened, as we searched for the monument in the mist. Luckily we all avoided the cliff edge and found the monument where we sat for lunch with glorious views of our feet. Cutting down to Alum Bay for a "view" of the Needles, we had to point out which direction to peer in for our visitors. Over Headon Warren, then back through Totland we finally caught a glimpse of the Needles but decided against retracing our steps. Finally through Victoria CP to the ferry (after a quick pub stop).
