18/9/05 - Parking in Newchurch, we headed south-east out of village, circling round Alverstone to the Mead Nature Reserve. After a brief stop at the hide (with nothing of note to report), we proceeded back round the north side of Alverstone, parallel to the cycle track, returning via Hill Farm and the "new" church to the pub. Although we were nearly kicked out of the pub for sitting on the petanque pitch (the benches were already there, honest) we had a pleasant drink in the early afternoon sun.
