11/12/05 - A small band of 8 ignored the foggy start to the day and met at Niton, and then ferried along to Shanklin Church to meet our leader Spencer. In reward for our boundless optimism, we were greeted by a gloriously sunny, calm and crisp winters day. Starting steeply up Shanklin Down (it was a Spencer walk after all!), we were treated to a glorious view of the east Wight. Continuing along the top of the downs, high above the sparkling mill pond sea, we then descended through the edge of Ventnor, continuing along the cliff edge above St. Lawrence, and eventually to Niton and The Buddle Inn for lunch.
