1/7/07 - A small band of us met the smaller mainland band at Yarmouth to be greeted by a specially arranged torrential downpour. Squelching off down the cycle path, Hilary decided our original route would be waterlogged so we continued on along the track straight to Freshwater Bay. Stopping for a pleasant lunch in the wind swept bay, we watched the tourists repeatedly fail to understand fluid dynamics as the waves crashed over them. Heading uphill we were battered by high winds as we passed the monument before descending to the honey pot at Alum Bay. Over Headon Warren and down to Totland Bay, Compton Bay (for an ice cream!) and inland through the camp site and Fort Victoria before rejoining the coast for the last leg to the ferry just in time for the boat.
