4/11/07 - A group of 22 including 5 new people plus 3 dogs, met at the Whale Chine car park in the sunny but chilly autumn breeze.
Quickly leaving the road, the leader settled our nerves with a couple of minor improvements to the route before climbing quickly up South Down and over to Pyle Manor where are numbers were swell by the late arrival of Jan.
As we proceeded, a buzzing developed in our ears which turned out not to be a medical condition, but a motorcross event at Corve Farm.
Resisting the burger van, we continued on across the surprisingly dry marshes where we returned to our original count as Cherie left us for a home cooked lunch, then on to Kingston Church for a sunny lunch stop.
Onwards and upwards to the impressive barn conversions at Bucks Farm, before turning south away from the wind.
Once again our leader demonstrated commendible imagination and daring by deviating from the prescribed route around Warren Hill before joining the Shepards Trail down to the coast as we all got increasingly warm in the unseasonally hot sunshine.
A brief break before skirting the cliffs all the way back to the cars.
