DescriptionMap

13/7/08 - Nine Wightsole members met at the viewpoint car park on Littleton Down, setting off along the main path towards St Martins Down, under threatening skies. Along the way, good views opened up of Sandown Bay and Culver Cliff. From St Martins Down, we made our way to Winstone Farm, and the Donkey Sanctuary.
At the Donkey Sanctuary a queue quickly formed for the loo, there's only one, and all those who used the loo said how nice it was. From the only loo, onwards towards Redhill Lane, and then Freemantle Gate, onwards and upwards to the obelisk on Appuldurcombe Down for lunch, and to admire the panoramic view of the width of the island.
After the lunch stop, we headed along Stenbury Down, passing the golf course, before turning along Rew Down, to start the final climb on to Wroxall Down, passing the CAA masts, to the car park.
