27/7/08 - Meeting in the sunny car park at the top of Mottistone Down, our small but happy band of 6 set off up hill along the track. Passing the ancient burial mounds (now sadly used by off road bikers), we headed down and round the hill to the Longstone for a quick snack.
Heading round Castle Hill to view the spectacular coast, we diverted across country to Strawberry Lane and up into the conifers of Grammar's Common. Winding through the back streets of Brighstone, we emerged on the other side into the now baking sun to climb over to Coombe Farm with it's cute lambs.
Climbing again we sought the shelter of shade when possible and soon reached the top and turned on to the Worsley Trail. Gently down, we all decided that as lovely as the day and walk had been, it was far enough in the heat!
