7/12/08 - 11 walkers met in the Duver carpark on a bright, crisp morning.
After rounding up the dogs we set off through a small woodland before emerging on the harbour and walking along the causeway.
Nearing the mill the path was closed so we took to the rather long winded detour before re-emerging on the harbour front.
Circumnativating the harbour we passed the many house boats and discussed the pros and cons of living on one.
The tide was out so we took to the beach and followed the coastline admiring the patterned sand and avoiding the puddles.
Passing some horse riders and Bembridge lifeboat station we had a well earned coffee break and watched the many passing ships.
Still following the coastline we had to resort to a little rock climbing before heading up the cliff to our lunchstop at Whitecliff bay.
After enjoying the sunny benches we proceeded inland, passing Bembridge windmill, before skirting the back of Bembridge and re-emerging on the harbour.
Retracing our steps, we marvelled once more at the house boats, before ascending to the green at St Helens and finally down the road to the cars.
