12/4/09 - Despite a murky start, we had a good turnout of 15 including a number of newcomers.
The group set off up the hill to the pepperpot, while Dave waited for a late arrival before rushing up after the group to catch up.
Recovering our breath (some more than others!), we continued on along the misty top of St Catherine's Down, quickly reaching the Hoy monument for a snack break.
Descending the back of the Down, we turned West towards Chale Green, slipping our way along the path and passing the Bluebells slightly too early.
Pausing on the Green for another snack before continuing west over Chale Lane, and through the woods and the gardens of Pyle Manor.
Approaching South Down, we split briefly as most of the group followed the lane around the hill while a select band strode to the top for not especially glorious views.
Talking briefly to the Llamas by the Military Road, we crossed over to the coast, turning left just in time.
Proceeding along the coast as the sun began to emerge, we pressed on to make it back before lunch.
The cliff edge continues to move inland, which must worry the houses in Cliff Terrace, especially the ones which have already gone!
The final steep climb up to the car park warmed us up nicely before we went our separate ways in search of food.
